Another victim of so-called blasphemy, Mashal Khan, a student of mass communication at Abdul Wali Khan University, Mardan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Firstly, does any individual has right to take a decision that anyone has committed blasphemy, abuse, to have the wrong character, the wrong personality, so called a pudi disturbance. Secondly, is any individual have right to impose punishment on another individual for committing blasphemy etc. Our pathetic environment of the country is taking lives on the name of Islam like someone has tried to kill children of our army soldiers in Army Public School Peshawar, on another aspect someone has killed her sister on the name of pudi at Multan, someone has killed Salman Taseer on the name of Islam. Now, due to blasphemy content, which was posted by someone else using fake social media Facebook account has taken another life of Mashal Khan.
This is what Salman Taseer raised voice for. The exploitation of blasphemy laws by radical lynch mobs would cripple the society and it is.
The Pakistan Penal Code prohibits blasphemy (Urdu: قانون توہین رسالت) against any recognised religion, providing penalties ranging from a fine to death. From 1987 to 2014 over 1300 people have been accused of blasphemy, Muslims constitute the majority of those booked under these laws.
§ 298 states:
- Whoever, with the deliberate intention of wounding the religious feelings of any person, utters any word or makes any sound in the hearing of that person or makes any gesture in the sight of that person or places any object in the sight of that person, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to one year, or with fine, or with both.
Those who are accused of blasphemy may be subject to harassment, threats and attacks. Police, lawyers and judges may also subject to threats, attacks, harassment when blasphemy is an issue. Those accused of blasphemy to be put in solitary confinement for their protection from other inmates and guards.
This all was from the constitution of Islami Jamhuria Pakistan.
Our religion propagates peace and tolerance. The Prophet (PBUH) had never asked us to get impatient and go around killing people. ~Malala Yousafzai (a victim of Pakistan’s extremism)
Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds. The mediocre mind is incapable of understanding the man who refuses to bow blindly to conventional prejudices and chooses instead to express his opinions courageously and honestly. ~Einstein
Kia Tamasha Hua Islam Ki Taqdeer ky Sath
Qatal-e-Shabbir Hua Naara-e-Takbir Ky Sath~Allama Muhammad Iqbal
Firstly, did he committed Blasphemy? No, he updated a post that someone else had made an account to blackmail him by texting to another fake account of girl to record their conversation on the name of Mashal Khan. Secondly, what role has played the university in the murder of Mashal Khan? Yes, to some extent, University has issued a notification by mentioning Mashal Khan and his activity of Blasphemy and in the notice, it was mentioned to form a disciplinary committee and it was also mentioned that any of those students could not get in the University. After the death of Mashal Khan, the university has issued another notice mentioning Mashal Khan(late) and about further inquiries. The first notice by administration of University may be urged the students to take this step.
Chief Minister, KPK. announced in his speech that no content of blasphemy was found in Mashal Khan’s phone calls, personal emails, personal social media accounts and in daily activities. He asked to take strict reaction on the murderers of him.
We ignored Malala, attacks on APS raised the lie from our sights. We declared Taseer a sinful man, Now, Mashal had been asking about his sin. (You will be avenged soon). ~Muhammad Umar Farooq
What is the meaning of all this incident, it means that you are free to slaughter your cows, lambs, chickens and frankly even humans who don’t agree with you. Is this the right way to solve any problem by hitting anyone’s autonomy? Loudspeaker has declared, that man has committed blasphemy, the man who had been selling low quality products on the name of quality products, the butcher who had never weighted right the meat, the shopkeeper who had never been telling the right price of the product, the Molvi (religion teacher) who had raped many children and the student who had not been fulfilling his duty to study ran to kill, to take revenge of blasphemy from that guy who might even not know what was his/her sin.
Last words of Mashal Khan:
“I never committed Gustakhi-e-Rasool (Blasphemy). I am Sufi myself. No one knows Prophet Muhammad better that I know him, please take me to the hospital.” He was continuously saying that I believe in Muhammad (SAW). I have never done blasphemy. Please don’t beat me. But the brutalists were beating him without having a look on their sins. They were even about to set his body on fire, Police came to rescue his body.
According to the faculty members, the university has been without full-time vice chancellor, after Prof Ihsan Ali completed his tenure and left the institution, pro-vice chancellor and deans of many departments. They also said that they had been facing worst type of administrative disorders after Ihsan. They have informed PTI government to appoint a new VC.
A few days back, an issue arose about Pashtun Community and Islami Jamiat e Talaba at Punjab University Lahore. I don’t know why even these type of student organizations exist. Students have the first obligation towards their study after religion. What is the motto of these organizations? They say they are promoting Islam. Are they promoting Islam by taking every rule of the country in their hands and by taking decisions who should be beaten or not? All these types of activities should be banned from all over the Pakistan. Even there should be any punishment on being part of such organizations.
I strongly condemn the murder of Mashal Khan. There should be any strict action taken against such students and people. Nobody has right to take Islam in their hands without having a complete knowledge of Islam.
